South32 Hermosa Project Awards $112,000 In Grants to Local Community Nonprofits

SOUTH32 HERMOSA PROJECT AWARDS $112,000 IN GRANTS TO LOCAL COMMUNITY NONPROFITS

South32 today announced the 16 charitable organizations selected to receive a total of $112,000 in grants during the latest round of funding from the donor-advised South32 Hermosa Community Fund. The grants, which will support a variety of community needs and projects, ranged from $3,000 to $10,000.

“We are so pleased to share that the latest round of funding has been granted to 16 impactful and deserving local organizations. These grants will help support programs and people throughout Santa Cruz County, ranging from the diaper bank at United Way to a job training program at the Boys & Girls Club,” said Sabrina Hallman, President/CEO Sierra Seed Co. and advisory Board member of the Santa Cruz Community Foundation.

The 16 organizations that received grants are:

● Mariposa Community Health Center
● Patagonia Volunteer Fire & Rescue

● Rio Rico Community Center
● Rio Rico Historical Society
● Rio Rico Rotary Foundation
● Santa Cruz Council on Aging, Inc.
● Santa Cruz Training Programs, Inc.
● Society for Bevel Intentions, Inc.
● St Therese of Lisieux Parish
● United Way of Santa Cruz County

Since 2019, the South32 Hermosa Community Fund has awarded $903,950 in 111 grants to nearly 54 different nonprofit organizations. The application period for the next round of grants will open on January 8, 2024. Learn more here: https://cfsaz.org/grants/south32-grants.

The South32 Hermosa Community Fund, a fund held at the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona (CFSA) and its geographic affiliate, the Santa Cruz Community Foundation, was established by South32 in May of 2019 to support non-profit groups working to improve education and leadership, economic participation, good health and social wellbeing, and natural resource resilience in Santa Cruz County. Grants are awarded following a review of applications by a committee.
