SOUTH32 COMMITS ADDITIONAL $90,500 IN COVID-19 RELIEF FUNDS FOR SANTA CRUZ COUNTY

South32, owner of the Hermosa Project near Patagonia, Arizona, committed today to more than
$90,000 in additional donations to support local COVID-19 relief efforts, including a $5,500
contribution to the Patagonia Unified School District, a $60,000 donation to Santa Cruz County, and a
$25,000 additional contribution to the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona’s COVID-19

The funds provided to Patagonia schools will be used to purchase Chromebooks for distance learning
during the pandemic-related school closures, while the donation to the county will be used to purchase personal protective equipment and medical tents for emergency response and testing. The company’s total contributions to the CFSA COVID-19 Community Support Fund now stand at $50,000 and will be earmarked to support non-profit organizations based in Santa Cruz County, Arizona.
