Olivia Lira, Maintenance Planning Coordinator 

Meet Olivia, Maintenance Planning Coordinator at Hermosa!  

With over nine years of experience in mining, Olivia has spent the last six years at Hermosa. Her introduction to the industry came in 2014 while she was still working in healthcare, and she hasn’t looked back since.

Before joining, Olivia worked for four years at a mine that was far away from her hometown in Nogales. She then found an opportunity at Hermosa as a Pilot driver with a contractor company. That was her first role at Hermosa.  

Since working with the project in 2018, Olivia’s journey has been diverse. Before finding her passion in administrative work, she supported several teams including Environmental, Maintenance and Site Services. After performing and learning more about administrative duties, Olivia realized that this was what she enjoyed the most. 

In her current role with the maintenance team, her work focuses on administrative tasks. This involves working on contracts, contacting vendors, and making sure procedures for equipment such as preventive maintenance, compliance, and documentation are followed. 

When talking about her time at Hermosa, Olivia says appreciates the financial freedom afforded to her by a job at Hermosa. “The stability allows me to enjoy time outside of work and do things I enjoy, like spending time with my family, including my daughters and grandchildren.”
