SOUTH32 COMMUNITY GRANTS AWARDED, NEXT GRANT CYCLE OPEN THROUGH MAY 29
The South32 Hermosa Community Fund is accepting new grant applications from Santa Cruz County
non-profits through May 29 for its current grant cycle. The fund, which is held by the Community
Foundation for Southern Arizona (CFSA), supports non-profit groups working to improve education,
environment, health and welfare, recreation, civic enhancement, and arts, culture and history in the
county, in accordance with the community’s needs and priorities.
Hermosa Community Fund grant awardees are selected by an application-review committee comprising independent reviewers, CFSA, and representatives from South32. The most recent grant cycle, which ended in March, resulted in a distribution of US $60,000 to the following recipients:
- Construyendo Circulos de Paz
- Friends of Patagonia Pool
- Valley Assistance Services
- Los Charros Foundation, Inc.
- Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest
- Santa Cruz Advocates for the Arts
- Santa Cruz Training Programs, Inc.
- Sierra Vista Symphony Association
“From college scholarships for students to fall-protection equipment for seniors, these dollars are
backing organizations that share our value of care,” said Hermosa Project President Pat Risner. “These are all groups that look after the people, places, and causes that make this county special. We recognize that in the context of COVID-19, many non-profit organizations are on the front lines as well as among the impacted, and the current grant cycle will be another way we show care for those who care for others during these trying times.”
