SOUTH32’S HERMOSA PROJECT CONTRIBUTES OVER $186,000 TO SUPPORT RICHARDSON PARK IMPROVEMENTS

The Town of Patagonia today unveiled improvements to Richardson Park designed to support
more community gatherings, including a new pavilion and play area. South32’s Hermosa project
contributed $186,157 to provide new playground equipment.

In 2022, Patagonia residents identified the need for park improvements as a way to improve
their quality of life by increasing socialization in public spaces. Town Manager Ron Robinson
put a plan together and sought feedback from local residents. After reaching consensus, the
town purchased the necessary pavilion materials and oversaw installation of the improvements.

“South32 aims for the Hermosa project to make a lasting contribution through social investment,
improving people’s lives in nearby communities. We are thrilled to partner with the Town of
Patagonia on this important community initiative to give residents additional space where
children can play and families and friends can gather,” said South32 Hermosa Communities
Principal Melanie Lawson.
